Australia Day & Community Awards

Australia Day Awards are the cornerstone of the national Australia Day celebrations. These awards make up a family of awards, which recognise personal endeavour and community participation.

The Southern Midlands Council feels that these awards reflect the contribution to the community, the breadth and depth of Australian achievement and the personal achievement and sacrifice people are prepared to give to ensure a better community and the kinds of values Australians respect and hope to advance in the future.  The Awards are an opportunity for the community to acknowledge and thank those people who contribute their time and efforts to the Southern Midlands area to enhance and benefit the entire community.

All residents are invited to nominate a member of the community whose outstanding contribution is deserving of recognition.  This could be a friend, family member, workmate or someone you have met while serving the community.
