2024 / 2025 RATES AND CHARGES RESOLUTION - SOUTHERN MIDLANDS COUNCIL
THAT under the Local Government Act 1993 and the Fire Service Act 1979, the Southern Midlands Council has made the following rates and charges upon rateable land within the municipal area of Southern Midlands (“the municipal area”)

Upcoming works for Blackman River Bridge Structure Replacement
The Department of State Growth will be replacing Blackman River Bridge on Main Road in Tunbridge from Monday, 15 July to Friday, 8 November 2024, weather permitting.
We appreciate your patience while these works are completed.
What does this mean for you?
The bridge will remain closed to all traffic (including pedestrians) and road users will need to use Lowes Street to access Midland Highway and Tunbridge during these bridge replacement works.
Please keep to speed limits and follow the directions of traffic controllers and signs.

Contaminated Recycling
Due to recent amount of contamination in the recycling bins with general household waste. This is a timely reminder to Ratepayers and Residents of what can be placed in the Recycling Bins.

Waste Management Reminder unapproved materials
Council would like to remind all residents/ratepayers on the roadside collection service that ordinary waste and unapproved materials must not be placed in your yellow lid recycling bin.
