Good morning,

Major construction on Tasmania’s largest ever transport infrastructure project will start soon.

As part of the New Bridgewater Bridge Project, the first of several stages of traffic changes will start from 3 October, 2022.

As one of our key project stakeholders, we have attached information designed to support your understanding of the changes ahead.

We request that you please become familiar with these planned changes, and include this information in your own communication with internal and external stakeholders.

By sharing the attached traffic staging plans and current Project Update, and by using the key messages provided below, you can help us minimise disruption to the community.

We thank you for your anticipated support, and we look forward to safely delivering this project in 2025.

Key messages:

Major construction on Tasmania’s largest ever transport infrastructure project will start soon.

The existing bridge will stay open, but there will be some traffic changes on either side of the river and in the general area.

To keep the community and our workers safe, there will be traffic barriers on the Brooker Highway, Black Snake Road and Main Road, Granton and on the Midland Highway, Bridgewater as well as reduced speed limits.

Please drive to the speed limits, obey traffic controller directions and plan your trip to allow for potential traffic delays.

You can find maps showing the changes and subscribe to updates on the project website: bridgewaterbridge.tas.gov.au
