Infrastructure & Works
The Works and Technical Services Department is responsible for providing engineering, technical and operational support to Council across the municipality’s infrastructure and associated services. The Department plays a key role in maintaining and managing Council’s physical assets to ensure they remain safe, functional, sustainable and fit for purpose.
Key responsibilities include the maintenance and management of roads and bridges, footpaths, parks and reserves, as well as providing technical advice and support to Council on infrastructure planning, development and renewal. The preparation, management and ongoing review of asset registers, plans and associated information is a key priority, supporting effective asset management and informed long-term decision-making.
The Department’s operational workforce is based across two strategically located depots at Oatlands and Kempton, enabling Council to respond effectively to maintenance requirements and service needs throughout the municipality.
Through its engineering, asset management and operational functions, the Department contributes to the protection and enhancement of the Southern Midlands’ infrastructure network and supports the delivery of safe, accessible and well-maintained public spaces for the community.
An after hours emergency services is provided on a rostered system.
